Anyone got any experience in handing a pch back early with emphasis on what’s the timeframe for bca inspection / collection ?

I’ve got a quote to hand back 2 months early at 55% of the remaining amount due.

This is to be paid by 28th March.

I still need the car until the 9th April.

Question really is how quick are bca at arranging this sort of thing and are they likely to be round super quick for the car.

From memory on a previous lease they have at least 1 week between inspection and collection.

Any advice!?

You need to contact BCA and chase it up ASAP. They will not contact you.

When you get hold of them they will likely only have one or two days per week when an inspector is working in your area and they will probably be fully booked for the next 3 weeks. The collection will probably be at least a few days after the inspection as well.

Do you want to keep driving the car after you have canceled the contract?

Either that or I pay for a whole month and only drive for 1 week

I would guess that paying on the 28th would result in a collection no sooner than 2nd April, at the absolute earliest - likely later. Unless it's a seriously cheap lease that you're ending or there's something really special that the car is needed for before 9th April, I would expect you'd still be in a better position if you had to short term rent a car to cover any gap up until 9th April rather than pay another month - making ending the contract now the most sensible option.

Did you get the next possible date for inspection from BCA? I'd be amazed if they could inspect and collect within 2 weeks so you should be fine as long as it's insured.

Phoned up to enquire and all they could tell me is it’s due for inspection in June.

I think i’ll Just do it and see how it works out. If they come for the car I can always arrange a stop gap until I pickup the next one.

Just to close this up should anyone else do a search looking to do the same.

I paid the settlement to vwfs on 30th and then I mailed them, took until 2nd April to get a reply containing a link to bca portal. Logged in and the earliest date for my to choose which they can inspect/collect is 30th April. So it appears they are in no hurry or to collect a car should you settle early.

Is it a Golf R? If so it is only going to sit in a field or be crushed to protect residuals.

Probably....

I ended a personal lease early last year with Nissan Finance and Menheim collected within 2 weeks of termination.

Inspector turned up with a car load of drivers (presume all for collections in my area).
Inspection and collection took about 30-40 mins.
He picked up on a small dent in the tailgate (£90) which my wife had done the night before but not told me!!!
