I'm about to buy a new daily driver, (3 years old) but the cars with the spec I want are all located in the north (I am in Surrey) I have independent finance in place but don't want to make two trips - one to see the car and agree on a deal, followed by a further visit to collect said car.

Some of you must have had this problem in the past - What is the best solution?

What things need to be sorted out in order that you can collect in one trip?

I can think of the following:
1) Is the car fully prepared for sale or are there any rectification jobs to be done
2) Are you happy with the price of the car, warranty etc
3) Are the funds available for immediate transfer when you arrive and approve the car

Is there anything else?

Speak to the vendor regarding 1) and 2) . If these can't be confirmed or agreed over the phone then either commit to taking two trips or look for a different example.
Speak to the provider of the funds regarding 3) to see what documentation they require to make payment and how long it will take. Use a different provider if necessary.

Just get it transported (negotiate this into the deal they may do it for free) to your home that way you only go up once.
