Best pick up for £10k

Howdy folks,

As the title suggests my wife and myself are looking for the best all round pick up for a max of £10k (excluding VAT potentially).

It will be used as a family car, for taking sheep to the market, dogs to work and towing a horse box. Ideally it needs to be able to tow 2.7t as a minimum.

I have looked and come up with the usual ie.
L200
Navara d40
Hilux
Ranger
Rodeo

But unsure what is the best all rounder?

A hilux Invincible is your best bet for the money

Hilux's are dear secondhand because of perceived quality. Buy an L200, just as reliable but worse residual values. Imo, much nicer trucks, although I think the seating position is better in a Hilux. I thought my L200s were better on diesel than the Hiluxs despite having more power.

Had an L200 through work for a couple of months, almost the worst and flakiest thing I’ve ever driven. Also had a Hilux for about 3 months, infinitely better.

You do get Toyota fanbois who think they're brilliant, so this keeps the values high. The last Hilux I had was brand new but already had water in the headlamps, a huge flat spot in the powerband and poor paint finish. They're good solid trucks but no more so than any other in the market.

The hilux is nice but the lack of isofix is annoying as a family car. The l200 seems to be the best value for money. Just seeing that you can get a couple of d max's in that price range

My money would go on an Isuzu dmax. In fact we have a dmax Utah.

It was deliberately chosen over the competition as we have owned several other trucks and highly rate the isuzu and had discounted some due to common reliability issues.

Cheers for that, like them both and their towing ability puts them high up the pecking order.
