High mileage Audi A4 Petrol?

Hi all,

I'm looking for some advice. I'm in the market for an estate car and fancied an Audi A4 estate (we have a fast growing Labrador!). I only travel about 5K to 7K miles a year and this is mainly around town.

My budget is < 15K. Few questions:

1/ Based on the miles I do and the type of miles, should I avoid a diesel due to DPF issues?

2/ Bigger question - Am I crazy paying 14K for a petrol that's done 90K+ miles?? On a diesel I wouldn't be worried, but would a petrol be near end of life by then (even if well serviced)?

I'd probably keep it around 3 years and given the miles I'll do, theoretically it should maintain a fair chunk of its value during that time??? I also thought about getting a 3 year warranty which i can do for a few hundred quid and it would protect me from anything catastrophic.
