Chances are he's pulled the Haldex unit off to put on his car, put the knackered one back on yours and is trying to mug you....

What did the V5 say?

What does the car come up as when you put the reg in to MoT checker/eurocarparts/etc?

I can’t believe anyone buys an AWD, and doesn’t
a) ask at the time, and look
b) try out the AWD system at some stage soon after
But hey, maybe that’s just me!

If the V5 stated Quattro, and all the badges stated Quattro, I can't see how you as 'the (wo)man on the Clapham omnibus' would know any different or believe it to be falsely represented.

You could go to a local Audi showroom or ring Customer Services off their website and ask if they are able to provide information on the vehicle from the registration number. I believe they keep details of the exact build specs of every vehicle, which should therefore confirm for definite if it is or isn't a Quattro.

Regardless of all the above, of course, it was Sold As Seen. If a buyer does not undertake due diligence to make sure a vehicle offered by a private seller is as stated, that is on them, surely.

And if he is skilled enough to be putting a new engine in and going hill climbing, he should know what he's looking at.

Pretend you're paying the congestion charge and see what it describes it as there? I chose a random one from AT and it has quattro in the description.

Does being a nurse make you more virtuous?

Easy way to sort this - post up the reg number.

I'm guessing what comes next.

If you advertised it as a Quattro and it isn't, then you've misrepresented the car and the buyer is entitled to a refund.

Ignorance is no defence in law. People stick badges on cars all the time.

KC03 MYS comes up on DVLA but not much else
Meerkats says it's a 2003 AUDI A3, 1781CC Petrol, 3DR, Manual

ECP say it's just an Audi, useful.

Anyway.....

Not sure where that reg number came from so we seem to have 3 posters all the same person.

Nothing worse than someone with multiple logins hiding their true identity (cough)

Actually only 2 usernames. Signed up with one and got snarky comments about nurse username. I think I’ll leave this here now smile

OP posted the details but then deleted the post (along with a number of others).

This thread hasn't long to last as it no longer makes much sense ...

As Jeremyc said, the OP posted it and then deleted it while I was Googling.
