BMW F31 Service Intervals
Discussion
Hi all,
Just looking for a bit of advice on expected servicing intervals for a BMW F31 we recently purchased through a BMW main dealer.
There have been a few issues with what we were told about the car prior purchase and I’m not really getting anywhere with the guy I’m dealing with! He’s just being very elusive.
Anyhow, my question for now is about the service intervals on the car. It’s done just over 44,000 miles. Before purchase I asked when the next service was due and was told 18,000 or 2 years. Upon checking the car after purchase it says 11,000 or 1 year. When I asked him to clarify he now says that the one due in 11,000 is the oil service and that the brake fluid one was done in Feb 2019. Any ideas on whether this is right? Bearing in mind he advised of a completely different schedule in the first place!
Any advice appreciated!

My understanding is that the first service would be 2 years maximum time, or a driving condition based mileage if sooner. The second service would be at a similar driving condition based mileage, the brake fluid would be at that second service and at no more than 3 years from new (or from last brake fluid change). I am not sure, and I may be wrong, but perhaps you can login on ‘My BMW’ then register and see the services carried out and those due.Just looking for a bit of advice on expected servicing intervals for a BMW F31 we recently purchased through a BMW main dealer.

What does the dash say when you switch on? That should say the next service date and/or mileage. You can also check via iControl, and ‘vehicle status’.
I have just checked mine. On switch on I get the service mileage to go and date (it is the second service, so it is a MAXIMUM of three years after the first build date).
If I go to vehicle status, I can see the date and mileage of the previous (that is the first service that it had) and a code. I presume the code is the dealer that did the service, and perhaps some further details that could be retrieved somehow.
