Hi

Looking for a small estate since our little one come along. Currently have a Lexus IS200 that we are finding a bit impractical. I went and drove a Volvo v70 but its massively overkill for our needs. I would ideally like Petrol, Jap would be my preference but not vital, maybe upto 3000 squids! (and fun if that is at all possible!)

Toyota bB?

Practical little MPV, 5 doors, decent size boot. Built on the Yaris platform so mechanically reliable,1.5 VVTI engine from the T sport. Super ECT auto box, timing chain, shares all mechanicals with the Yaris so parts are easy.

Quirky styling, well put together. The seats in the rear fold flat so there is some decent load space. Bench seats up front. Quite go karty handling, and not slow for what it is. There is also a 1.3, but the 1.5 is the one to go for.

Love mine to bits. £3000 will buy a nice NCP31 gen 1. Tax is £155 for the year, and insurance is pretty cheap with the right broker (I pay £260 FC with REIS). MPG in the high 20s/low 30s with mixed driving.

See my readers cars thread for more bits and pieces on it. https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Would a Mazda 5 be of any use? I haven't done much research into them but remember coming across them. More sort of MPV rather than estate but might be ok. If not, Mazda 6 estate?
