I have £15k give or take a bit to find a toy !

Fuel not an issue but it would like it to be as deprecation proof as possible.

Few uk trackdays booked this year and another ring trip in a few months.

Already considered

E46 M3
E92 M3
Megane RS
Porsche Boxster S

Not really into a VX220 or Elise’s.

Just wondered what else people could offer up before I continue my M3 hunt !

Funnily, i might be in a position like this in a month or two, and had a similar shortlist. Will watch the responses with interest smile

What cars have you had in the past and what did you like/dislike about them?

As for previous stuff I’ve just completed a Westfield Zetec build that’s now sold, loads of French stuff that I always loved for the fun and value, I have had a DC2 which was probably the best fwd car I have ever driven in Std form.

I really fancy an E46 but finding a good one within budget is proving quite hard.

What about a M135i, £15k should get you into a 2014 car? 320 hp, 0-60 in about 5 seconds? Fairly new so should be reasonably reliable and cheap to maintain?

Stretch the budget a bit and you're into 996C4S or 997C2S territory. I think I'd keep saving personally as surely tick all the boxes and highly unlikely to depreciate further unlike Cayman/Boxster?

ETA - The 997 says manual on the advert but pretty sure that's a tiptronic gearbox in the interior shots. frown
