Was looking Audi but have been put off since joining forums what would you guys recommend?

I use the car for fishing as well as pleasure so nothing to new 10-13 plate I currently have a 3 series Bmw. I’ve had it around13 years and has been a great car till I’ve had a frustrating intermittent fault .prefer petrol as don’t do the miles to keep it clear ,
Have been looking at Audi but hearing a lot of issues.and definitely been put off with Bmw timing chain issues in the newer models. Need folding rear seats or hatchback style.

Up to seven don’t want to go too much more Really.as for fishing it’s rods in car approx seven foot into passenger foot well I was impressed with the a4 boot with seats folded down as looked like I could get a bike in too if needed also maybe two bags in the boot area 👍🏽

To be honest I'd be going for a Mondeo in Titanium X Sport spec it ticks all the boxes & will be a better steer than the A4 as well as having space to spare they come loaded with kit but they hold their money well compared to their mainstream competitors.

Brilliant reply I will look at all the above also was also thinking focus wanting to keep petrol as as I said I do lower mileage. Having looked and looked nothing caught my eye before but will pay attention to these every car I’ve looked into so far suffer with big issues 👍🏽

My father and I are keen carp anglers. His last few cars have been Skoda superb estate (massive) and two Octavia estates, the current one being a 14 plate. For fishing duties, b&q trips and the occasional family outing they are great cars. Personally I manage without estates and have not had any trouble getting fishing rods into an Astra 5 door hatch, C class saloon or my current 5 door Seat Leon Cupra. My rods are 6ft long broken down but you really don’t need an estate for this just pull your passenger seat forward tilt it back and you can fit the rods in there easily.

are they good cars, the Mazda looked ok but I wouldn’t mind seeing if I could manage with something a little smaller focus sized don’t need a sports car just something that moves if asked .

I have a 2014 (Mk. III) petrol Focus and it's been an excellent car. Completely bullet proof and feels like it'll go on forever, with no squeaks, rattles or any other issues. Mine has the 3 cylinder turbo with 125BHP (there's also a 100BHP version), which is below your requirement and isn't particularly quick. On the upside, the fuel consumption can be seriously impressive if you drive sensibly. Considering it was introduced in 2012, the engine still won its category in the 'Engine of the Year' awards that were an article on PH yesterday, so it can't be that bad!

There are petrol engines from 1.0 to 2.0 Turbo.
