Impreza sti 330s
Discussion
Good evening all,
After a going through Imprezas in various shapes and engine models, I have decided to look at a 2009 Impreza Sti 330s. It obviously comes with the chocolate engine, but It has been forged and running sensible power.
Anyway, other than the engine which is addressed, does anyone have any points i should be looking at?
Thanks in advance .

My wife's cousin had one (2010 model), and i now have a WRX-S (2008)
The 330s comes with Brembos and there are some issues with these due to being aluminium and people often over torqueing the calipers.
Fuel economy is poor, mine gives 23mpg but only has a 5 speed box. STi has 6 speed but with the extra performance will be about the same. RFL is high too.
I've just done lower arm bushes on mine and I've found things are much more rusty under there than my previous older cars with higher miles. For example i had to use a recip saw to cut off the ARB links.
Also Subaru parts seem to be very expensive, much more so than my experience with genuine BMW or Merc parts. A new key for example (mine only came with one) is £350, drop links are £47 each, front arms are £335 each and so on.
I've been disappointed with mine, it's quick but not a lot of fun. My memory of the STi was that it felt much more characterful and it certainly sounded better and i had hoped the WRX-S would give me 70-80% of that but sadly not.
What else are you considering?
