Hi all,

Before I get into a discussion with the car dealership I would really appreciate some general information. I've found myself with a bit of an issue.

On the Friday I bought a cheap second hand soft top sports from a car dealership. Paid up front and everything signed with no obvious faults; a lovely vehicle. On the Saturday I was offered a job position abroad, something I hadn't planned for, applied for but equally something I can't turn down. Tomorrow will be the following Monday, do I have any rights in terms of being able to hand back a car which has no faults and simply based on that fact that I can no longer use it?

Much appreciated.

Ha ha ha ha.

No.

You can ask them to buy it back off you though. Expect them to pull your pants down a bit.

Yeah, just rock up in it, say thanks but no thanks, ask them to transfer the money back to you, job done.
Almost like hiring a car, but at no cost to you. Win win.

Sure, as long as you have kept the receipt and it is still in its original packaging. smile

In reality, no you can’t, if it is a cheap soft top just bung it on eBay / AT etc and should not have issues selling it

Sure, no problem. I did similar recently, bought a Leonberger for company in my studio flat but it wouldn't fit. Took it back no questions asked.

If he doesn't take it back, just claim he's breaching your human rights and take him to the European Court for some compo. Simples!
