Not a like for like comparison but the deal you've got looks competitive.

I can't see sense in it when you can buy a lightly used 14/15 car outright for the total cost of that PCP.
So a four/five year old performance car, out of warranty and probably thrashed to within an inch of its life,is far cheaper to buy than a brand new one - you learn something new every day on this forum...
Next, someone will say they can't "see the sense" in buying a current iphone when you can buy a five
year old Iphone 5 on Ebay for £50!!

And I cant see sense in buying a new Iphone; Gumtree is great for sealed new 5's, 6's, 7's, 8's for non-silly money.
I was tempted by one of these and there is one local to me that I walk past every day but our 120d M-Sport on 18" alloys currently has a cracked rear alloy despite being driven with a mechanical sympathy and a friend with 19" alloys on his Z4 has been through 5 alloys so far! I think I'll be so worried about the M4 that I'd drive it like a granny.
Of course I still might get one ...

Usual stuff I see..
With the new car you get the competition pack, a full manufacturers warranty, a cheap servicing pack and a car spec'd exactly as you want it.
Buy 5 years old and you get a standard car, a £1k a year bill for the warranty (assuming the car is still eligible), expensive servicing due to the age/mileage and someone else's spec.
Lots of other costs to consider buying used (interest on HP, £500 a year RFL, MOT..)
It will of course work out cheaper overall, but then you'd certainly hope so wouldn't you?
If you can afford it and want the latest spec, upgraded model and the best warranty etc. then go for it. If you can't afford it then buy second hand, just make sure you understand the real costs of doing so first. It's not hard is it?

Isn’t the £500 VED applicable to the new car too- actually isn’t it a a lot more now that the new car is >£40k list price? With the new car you get the competition pack, a full manufacturers warranty, a cheap servicing pack and a car spec'd exactly as you want it.

Just trying to point out that there are a lot of factors at play and it's not as easy as "just buy a 5 year old one for £30k"

Most PCP/PCH deals it's factored into the cost for the term. Obviously not with a 2nd hand purchase.

VED included within the PCP payment? Just trying to point out that there are a lot of factors at play and it's not as easy as "just buy a 5 year old one for £30k"
Does BMW FS pay DVLA each year for you?
I just have one question ( Not to OP ) , how much one has to earn to be able to spend - 4k down and 28,752 spent over 4years on a car on a PCP where you Just flush that $ away?
I know everyone on this forum is a total baller but still?
Did not meant this in any negative way or an attack to OP , Just genuinely interested at what kind of income people usually start thinking about getting such deals?

I often think about this too. The problem is there's so many variables because everyone has different outgoings.I know everyone on this forum is a total baller but still?

It can depend on:
- Your age
- Salary
- Job Security
- Kids or no kids
- Single or Married
- How many holidays you go on per year
My best guess answer is, try to save the monthly payments for 4 months straight, if you succeed then it's probably right for you, if you fail then you'd probably get yourself in to trouble.
Also, remember you'll need another deposit after the period has finished assuming you have no equity left in the car
