Alternatives to 07 BMW 630i? GT or saloon

Found myself falling in love with the 6 series recently, seeing it as a potential next car. I've got a few months of various things going on so not in a position to pull the trigger but have the money parked.
Looking at auto trader, with a 10k budget and 80k mileage filter applied looks like the majority are pre facelift (57 on is LCI) .
Out of the engines, the 3.0 is most desired as I've had 3 cars with this engine and think it's superb, with the mix of power, economy and sound.
I wouldn't rule out a good 635d but they only come in facelift and will be top end of 10k budget. The V8 I think I'd struggle to justify and heard of fairly big bills being common.
Seems that there's a couple of options :
-Pre facelift with 70kish for 6.5k
-Or facelift that might only be a year newer for 9k plus.
I had a 530d in the facelift camp and they sport better I drive, gearbox is upgraded and emissions / mpg slightly better. Not sure if this is worth 3k though.
I won't rule out higher mileage low owner cared for examples when the time comes so might be looking at cheaper ones again.
