Plenty of 7 seat choices - but if you want a 6, there's only really the FRV and the Fiat Multipla.

Multiplas have a cult following these days - sadly quite rare - but actually very good.

Mazda 5 would be my choice. Based on focus, but more practical than the C max of that era.

More car like than the bigger stuff (obviously)

I guess the other point is whether they mind trading +2 seats for boot space. Many 7 seaters sacrifice most of their luggage space, so to get both needs something bigger.

That’s where the FRV and Multipla work really well with the 3+3 seating.

I'd go for the best example of the earliest shape of Kia Sedona you can find. Not very glamorous, but surprisingly competent and the earlier ones are better screwed-together and look better to me. Similar to a Grand Voyager, but far more reliable.

Mk3 scenic would be my choice. Ran one for 4 years now with over 60k in that time. Has been faultless in every way and gets 48mpg even full with 6 people and roof box on.

1.8i petrol Zafira would be my choice.

You will get a much younger, lower miles Zaffy petrol for the price of an old diesel something else, with potential DPF, DMF, pump, turbo or injector issues looming
