Will I regret this....?

I've had my Peugeot 308 GTi for 2 1/2 years now, its an excellent car and easily my favourite car of the 16 or so that I've owned. Why? It just does what hot hatches are meant to do, be a family car, a commuting car and a car to enjoy driving and go on the occasional track day.
Yet, since I was a lad I've always fancied a Seven type car and I'm now seriously thinking of selling the GTi, buying a boring family car for 1/2 the price and putting the rest towards a Westfield. The wife will be happy as the suspension in the GTi is too stiff for her to text while I'm driving and it doesn't have enough cup holders. And I'll get to scratch my itch.
But the Westie will be used once in a blue moon and I'll be stuck with a daily with half the power...
It's a dilemma, if I scratch my itch will I regret commuting to work in a doring car. But if I don't do it, will I forever be wishing I had?
I know there are other solutions, like an older cheaper hot hatch, but I need reliability and low running costs (especially If I get another car) in my daily. There are also many other options to a Westfield, but for now that's what I fancy.
Anyway, what would you do, keep a good daily, or swap it for a boring daily and a fun "toy" car?

Cheap barge daily and a Westfield here... Wouldn’t go back to having a nice car as a daily... the freedom of not being fussed leaving it anywhere is nearly the best bit.
I’m limited to kit cars/specials for the toy as the insurance is dirt cheap at around £100 a year and I couldn’t justify it if I was paying £600+ extra on that.
Plenty stuff about that will give you a reliable 200-250bhp daily for not a huge sum

I can even make the numbers stack up. Neither a Westfield or an older shed will depreciate as much as my current car. I also have a slight issue in that I have no garage, but room to make a lean to garage on the drive. Which I reckon will add value to the house.
Hence it almost makes financial sense!
Ok, I'll be running an extra car which no doubt I'll want to tinker with, but that's money towards a hobby so doesn't count.

They’re pretty cheap as 2nd cars, I usually tax April - Sept for 6 months @ £130 then do the odd month over the winter if the weathers good and if I’ve got time/inclination to go out in the cold/wet... on top of that it’s a few pounds over £100 a year to insure plus an MOT so all in under £300 a year.Cheers for the input...

Man maths says by not having an expensive daily your over all insurance bill will be at least £300 a year cheaper then factor in depreciation and you’re actually making money
My Westfield does about 3000 miles per year.
Every one of them awesome.
Lots of other enthusiastic kit car owners to play with too, depending on your location.
Used to have a cobra, and whilst they're awesome the westy is much more user friendly and easier to tinker with.
Had to dash over from North Wales to Yorkshire last week, well I say dash, I did a 3 hour jaunt over the Pennines in awesome weather and the 50mph average speed cameras didn't bother me, as the twisties were ridiculous fun and I just stayed sensible on the straight bits

Its surprisingly motivating when you are having a rubbish week but you know that on the weekend you can pull the covers off and forget about it all for a while.

Depending where you live, there are probably Westfield owners nearby who'll take you out for a drive and scare the bejeesus out of you (show you how much fun they can be )1. Build lean to garage

I have a skoda superb and a caterham. I enjoy driving the skoda - its a family car and always a pleasure to get from A to B as quickly, neatly and safely as possible.
Every time out in the seven is an event. Whatever mood I’m in I come back invigorated and a smile on my face. Its also something my son enjoys so we generally go to car events in it. Its also a hobby so tinkering with it is as enjoyable as driving it. It only has 140bhp but that is ample in a 500kg car.

From my experience of having a daily and a toy for the last 6 years.
Having a fun car just for weekends gives it more novelty when you drive it.
Yes you won't drive it as much , but does pootling along your commute in the morning on autopilot really count as "proper" driving?
There is also the added bonus that whenever you jump in the Westfield , you know its for fun and not some boring reason
In short , having the second car for weekends will make driving it so much more of an Experience!
