Hi,

Looking for a new motor as my old diesel Focus C-Max is boring the life out of me and i think its time to change car after 5 years of driving this big tank!

Looking for a sporty hatchback around the 5-6k mark and the cars I have had my eyes on are:

Golf Mk5 R32 DSG (Just the yearly tax cost is putting me off!!)
Audi S3 8P Model DSG
Golf Mk5/6 GTI
VW Scirocco 2.0 TSi GT DSG
Renault Megane RS250
Renault Megane R26 F1
Vauxhall Corsa VXR
Ford Fiesta ST-3

My favourite ones out of that list are the

Golf Mk5 R32
Audi S3

But if you had up to a max of 6k what would you go for and why?

Cheers
Mase

Depends what you need it for!

As a daily to chuck loads of miles on - Golf GTI

As a lightly used daily and fun car - R26 Megane

Or a complete left field choice - BMW 130i

The Golf R32 is a great car with a fantastic engine, but I would strongly advise against getting one with the DSG 'box.

I had a similar choice a few months ago and went for the Megane R26 F1

Use it as my daily driver and is really good fun down the A/B roads to work. I did look at the golf' GTI's but went for the megane as it had a little more power and LSD as standard.

Surely a 130i has to be on that list?
