Agreed to buy a car and now looking to do a car history check but there seems to be many on the market now days.

Anyone clues into which is best!?

The car in questions 8yrs old and is over 50k. Is there any which give data insurance to that value?

I used https://www.vcheck.uk/ last time I checked a car. In addition to the normal, they do checks on salvage auctions which can turn up an unrecorded accident damaged car.

Done the check with Vcheck and it’s come back with a mileage warning.

However: there seems to be a mistake as the very 1st entry is a mileage record of over 12000 miles which was recorded 3 days after the car was registered.

Next reading is for its 1st MOT at 3yrs old and is under 5k miles.

This 1st reading would mean the cars done 4000 miles a day in its 1st few days which isn’t really humanly possible.

I’ve emailed Vcheck and they replied rather quick saying they are investigating and have contacted Experian who provided the record and will get the clarification/correction.

Hopefully it’s nothing!? I’m thinking it’s maybe been data from another car possibly the one that was previously assigned the private plate that this one was registered on?
