PH'ers experience of 10-13plate Aygo's v new
Discussion
Our '07, 90k, owned from new, Aygo has had:
Several new back boxes,
All the lights and vent grilles at the back siliconed in (now dry inside!),
One new rear wheel bearing recently,
2 new sets of pads and discs on the front (they do seem to wear them both together)
A new water pump (couple of hour's work last year, including what may have been it's first ever coolant change...),
The dodgy indicator switch problem can be cleaned up in a few minutes once you've got the stalk out (also just a few minutes),
Almost zero servicing from 3 years to ten as it was my wife's car and once the warranty was up, she didn't bother,
A repaired heater fan,
Has one rusty wing... strangely enough, the only one that's been replaced, thanks to a bump...,
Cold aircon (never touched, left on all year round),
Some slightly better speakers (cheap Kenwoods) and a stereo that plays from a USB stick added.
There is a recall for the rear windows falling out of 5 doors (glue fails on the hinges), which I might take some credit for as ours vanished at 60-70mph on a DCway which isn't very safe for whoever happens to be behind.
I've done all the work except the heater fan and wheel bearing myself... it's getting the occasional service now, too, as I'm now using it daily as my commuter car, and my daughter is learning to drive in it (Skoda offered £200 for it against the wife's new CitiGo).
It's still fine, still keeps up with traffic even on Mway hills so long as you drop a cog.
I've sat in the new one (not driven one) and it felt like a big step backwards - there were plenty of poor reviews compared to the old one, too, IIRC...

I had a 10 plate 106 and chopped it for a 65 plate Aygo which just went back @50k
Get a later model - miles better - too many reasons to list, but the reversing camera and cruise limiter stand out
Seriously, a reversing camera in an Aygo???!Get a later model - miles better - too many reasons to list, but the reversing camera and cruise limiter stand out
Look over your shoulder* and that's the back of the car...
*Ok, those with bad necks excepted. But that applies to every car for them.

Is a shift light a good plus point too?

All joking aside - the camera is very good for a cheap car. It's mounted low enough and fish eyed enough (and high res) to give a really good view
Other bonuses i can recall?
Bluetooth
Hill start assist
traction control
electric everything you might want
aircon
5 year warranty
tbh I decided to px the 107 (fully serviced) at 75k because it started using oil quite rapidly. it never missed a beat otherwise - the aygo didn't either
Depends on the £££ involved - 50% is a fair old hike
Mine 107 10 plate - 1 year old paid £6100 @ 7k - px dec 15 at 75k got £1.7 trade and £800 off the Aygo
65 Aygo was worth about £4.7k when it went back (WBAC)
