Hi all,

Soon my beloved hyper hatch will be going as I need to start being a bit more financially smart and stop spending stupid money on cars. I've been looking at e92 335d coupes and found one tasty example but the car is CAT D, it's 2011 with 41,000 miles on it. Before you ask I haven't spoken to person selling it so not sure why there is a CAT D on it but apparently it has been repaired to correct standards.

Anybody owned 335d e92 or owns one? What should I look out for and are these engines relatively reliable? I tend to work on cars myself and carry out services as well, generally my cars get serviced every 6000 miles and I do about 18000 per year or so.

Also, would you buy a cat d car?

Any input is appreciated.

Thanks

The first thing to ask if he has any photos of the damage, then check everything I'd actually get it inspected if you're serious about buying it.

Price needs to be reflective of its insurance status.

I'd like it to be around 25% cheaper.

Can sometimes be difficult to insure and even harder to sell on.

I like the ads that say CAT D, but only needed a bumperlaugh

Ask for pics. No pics, don't bother.

At least 25% under trade price
