When should i order my replacement lease

My current lease ends in January and i'm starting the process of looking for a replacement. How early do you all start looking for your next lease? and if you see a great deal do you jump on it and not worry to much about it waiting at a dealership before your ready to swap or do you try and arrange a build date closer to when you are ready?
I wouldn't mind getting myself a golf gti or cupra but with the new model around the corner i'm slightly paranoid if i wait too long this model will be replaced by the newer model coming around the corner.

Some deals are "in stock" deals, either in the dealer network, or sat on a dock/airfield somewhere.
You'd be lucky to get these held until past the end of the quarter to be honest.
Other deals are cars that have been preordered by dealers/finance companies, and could be anywhere from a build slot 26 weeks away to arriving at the dealer next Tuesday.
Finally there could be a deal on Factory orders, when you say you'll lease the car they book the car to the factory and the lead time is whatever it is, which can depend on the factory capacity, options you put on it, whether there is a lead time on specific parts.
Unfortunatley most of the time the answer is to find the deals and then ask if the broker/dealer if they can meet/wait for your required delivery, or decide if you can deal with the overlap/handing back early/gap between.

My car is due to go back in January too, I’d decided to start looking 6 months out and pretty much straight away found something, an E300 coupe.
On the other hand I couldn’t take up a good deal I’d found just before, on a A5 Cabriolet, as it was a stock car which they wouldn’t hold past August (lucky really as I prefer the Merc)
