4C lease ended - what next?

Hi,

This is probably not as straightforward as the thread title might appear, as I'm not after a direct replacement for the 4C.

I want something fast, different and with a good engine noise / exhaust note. I don't want anything I consider a bit shouty, so no BMW M Cars, Audi RS Cars, 911s or Monaros. I'm also looking for a bit more practicality than the 4C in terms of luggage space and the ability to hold a conversation whilst on the move.

The two cars I am considering at the moment are a Giulia Quadrifoglio or a Maserati Gran Cabrio. What else should I be considering?

Gran Cabrio will feel like a barge compared to the 4c, is this going to be an issue?

I came here to post this too. The cabin is remarkably quiet and that's even on a car that's had a rear silencer removed. Plus they're great VFM at the moment

It would be a 2nd hand purchase - I'm totally done with leasing, it's not for me.

Budget is flexible to a point - less than £30K ideally, but up to £40K maybe £42K if the car is irresistible.

Maybe shouty isn't the right word to describe M, RS and AMG cars - they're just not what I'm looking for. The Giulia on the other hand has the saving grace that it's an Alfa, and in my book that goes a long way towards compensating for any other issues it might have.

I will take a look at the Evora, it's not something I've even thought about wanting. The last Lotus I lusted after was a Europa in about 1980.

Why not buy the 4C at the end of the lease? I think they will hold their value pretty well due to rarity and you'll have known how it's been cared for and driven.

Also 3 year old V6 Jaguar F types are looking pretty good VFM atm.

See the thread in the Alfa section - Leasys were totally unrealistic when it came to values and wanted at least £5K more than other cars are advertised for.
