£50k on depreciation proof car?

Ariel Atom 3.5 supercharged. You can get a really nice one for that price and they are holding their values really well.

A bit to extreme for most people though...

Yes I think an aerial atom would be too raw for me

Any air-cooled 911
Lotus Exige S1 (or a late, supercharged S2)
Alfa 4C Coupe (they've stopped making them and I reckon they've bottomed out at £35k)
BMW 1M
981 Cayman GTS (these have been at £50k for 3+ years)

I currently have two of the above, and really regret not buying a nearly-new 1M at £38k!

Maybe an M3 CSL or a TVR T350 or a 996 GT3
I wouldn’t bank on no depreciation though, market as a whole is moving in the opposite direction imo

I agree....bad time to be thinking of a car as an investment. The whole market is on its a4se at the moment. Don't see it changing anytime soon. Wait a bit longer.

Seen a couple of Ferrari 612 Scagletti's down to exactly near your budget. Wouldn't be a bad shout if you don't want to wait. They were 170k new list as base spec with some upto 200k. Down to 50k. That would be where my money would go and nice car as well IMHO.

Market is saturated at the moment with people, like myself, who bought cars years ago and now keen to realise the gain. I have decided to hang on to mine as there once was basically nothing for sale make / model like my investment car a couple years ago now there's dozens - and many of them have just come out of storage. Auctions full of cars that just came out too.

Tough one though - it a buyers market from that POV - if you can find a seller who is really motivated there could be deals to be had.

Agree with above, any air cooled Porsches, any pre 2000 BMW M cars in great condition, and there will be loads of others. One piece of advice from someone who has been burned - rare does not always mean more valuable - no matter the marque!

Big miles?
It's a 34 year old car with less than 100k. That's about 3000 miles a year which is low in my book.
