Done a straight swap for my car at a dealers ,but realised my new car is not suitable for my needs .Can I reverse the deal and ask for my old car back ?

You need to stand firm and insist on your rights. The law clearly says that not only should you get your old car back freshly valeted, your wife should have a bouquet of flowers and the dealer’s receptionist should offer to let you motorboat her and/or him.
