£10k daily help

Hi all,

Previously owned a 1.6l fiesta TDCi and was looking for somethink abit quicker (around 150 BHP), the fiesta died on me and im looking for a car asap. Only doing 7.5 Miles to work a day so dont think a diesel is viable.

My budget is around £10000, doing around 8k miles per year hence only a petrol, around 35 mpg, manual or auto, Im looking for a hatchback but are open to ideas, 20 yr old, 3 Years NC in Feb 2020. VW Polo GTI, VW Golf GT and VW Polo BlueGT are all cars ive considered so far. Insurance for a Polo GTI is around £900 which is very reasonable tbh.

Open to ideas so fire away.

I'm in the same boat (and have been for bloody ages of indecisiveness) so here's a few that I have considered / am considering. Some may be way off in terms of power / frugality but take your pick.

Newer Polo GTi with the 1.8 is also one I'm interested in so would be interested to hear others thoughts / experiences on that.
