Which Car - V12 Vantage or 997 GT3

Another what car and 1st world question but I’ve had my head somewhat turned. Currently looking for a 997GT3 around the 70-80 mark max. Always been the aim and never waivered but having watched an old Harris video comparing the 991GT3 (which was the favorite), a CLK Black and the V12V, it’s clear that the V12V is special.
I was amazed then to realize that early v12’s are mid- 60’s to 80k which when you consider the same year of GT3, the 991 is 100k+ and the price comparison is therefore the previous Gen 997, the V12V seems great value for a hand build N/A v12 manual.
Am I missing something here? I fully appreciate they are different propositions but would love the PH view.

I have not driven either one of them but owned a 997 GT2. I would say it depends on your intended use - purely for road driving I think a manual V12 car will feel more special and the interior is a nicer place. For track days, I would go GT3.
I would test drive both if I were you as they are quite different propositions.

Just spotted this thread and thought I would respond as I too have been thinking that V12 Vantages are looking good value. I haven't driven a 997 GT3 but have been considering the V12 against a 996 GT3 (the only version of which I have driven was a brief hack in an RS).
It was a while ago but I did a few miles in a V12 some years back. As I recall, it was a softer-feeling car than the GT3 but one that had to be treated with respect. The power coupled with the fairly short wheelbase meant that it could feel fairly lively, particularly in damp conditions. I didn't love the ergonomics and seem to recall the gearstick wasn't exactly where I wanted it to be. However, I loved the engine and enjoyed the fact it felt "alive" and not too sanitised, partly as I think a car can be enjoyable at road speeds when you have to balance power versus grip. It obviously looks great and sounds great too. I briefly drove a DBS (paddle-shift) back to back with the Vantage and found it a lot more relaxed and softer, even though I think it is a fabulous car too.
In short, definitely worth a test drive. V12 engine with a manual gearbox is always something to be applauded. I will be revisiting when I'm in a position to buy (hopefully soon).
