Not the most interesting of posts, sorry.
The A4 Ultra by default has only a 40 litre fuel tank. Apparently there was an option to spec the normal sensible sized one.
Any idea how to find out?
It’ll show up on the Audi approved used search if at a franchised Audi dealer as having the larger tank. The A4 Ultra by default has only a 40 litre fuel tank. Apparently there was an option to spec the normal sensible sized one.

Otherwise all A4s have a sticker in the boot with all the codes. You’d need to work out the code for the larger tank.
As an A4 owner myself: hardly any, when I looked, had the larger tank. And 40l is really annoying don’t small.
It's about 20litres smaller than the non Ultra models and one of the normal benefits of a diesel is a huge tank range. We do regularly do a round trip of close on 1000 miles so not having to fuel up at services or take a lot longer than 5 mins to find an off motorway fuel station is helpful. But yes on a day to day basis the rest of the time it's not an issue.
