Hi guys, This is my first post on the forum so I hope it is received well.

Recently my love for cars has come back and as a result I am looking to get a new (used) car sometime within the next few months and I'm having some difficulty coming to a decision on what to buy. on one hand I really want to get a relatively cheap car and make it my own (I really want a 350z) but because of my young and age and relative inexperience (22yrs old and driving for around 3 years) insurance when I account for mods is disgustingly high.

This leads me to my second option which is getting a relatively nice car with decent performance out of the box so I wouldn't mod and decent insurance for myself (e.g. an A45 or M235i/M240).

If I am able to get reasonable insurance on the first option then that's what I'd like to do but I'd like to get some thoughts on what the best course of action might be for now

Thanks

p.s. I'm coming from a peugeot 208 so other vehicle recommendations are more than welcome (anything is faster than that lool)

Why not look at a 208GTi/Fiesta ST, you should get a sensible insurance number with those.

I had a Fiesta Ecoboost ST-Line hire car last week.

I'm guessing it must have been a 125bhp example.

Willing little turbo lump with that 3 cylinder thrum when pressing on. Decent handling. Plenty of kit.

Door cards a bit cheap, but the rest was pretty good.

Definitely recommended.

Why not just look for a 350Z and leave it standard, as it sounds like the mods aren't helping with the insurance issues!
