Accidental gazumper
Discussion
So, I've just found out (by private message) that the car I've put a deposit down already had a deposit placed by an non-viewing 3rd party. The seller had agreed to accept a deposit but wasn't happy to take it off the market it seems.
Do I do the honourable thing and walk away, asking for my deposit (getting it back is another thing of course) or go through with the purchase as planned?
Bottom line, either a stranger is upset they missed out on a bargain or I'm s**t out of luck (and £300) and so is the seller.
I think the car is a relatively good buy at the price and pretty rare, so don't come up often at all. I just recently sold my car so, right place - right time.
TLDR; I gazumped a car buyer by accident, do I walk away?

with your car leave it to the seller to sort out, also don't assume you're getting the car yet because the seller seems like he will sell it to whoever turns up with the balance first so you need to get round to him sharpish.
