Isnt that the diesel engines youre thinking of, petrol CGI engines were 200 or 250. I had an E200CGI for 6 months, 2012 I think, 30mpg average, slow and gutless. Nice solid car otherwise. 2 years later I bought an E220CDI estate which I had for 4 years, great comfy load lugger/cruiser, never had an issue with it and wish Id kept it and run it until it died.

Not much info around for the petrol 250 in the face lifted W212. Went to see one yesterday and they’d forgotten to add it’s on the register on the Ad! Turns out it’s a Cat D with no info on what was damaged but it’s been running since the repair in 2016. Might get someone along to take a look ....
Can anyone please give me an idea on the forecourt value for a 2013 (facelift) E250CGI SE Estate 77k on a Cat D?
I’ve found one up at £10995 and the guy said if it wasn’t Cat D it’d be up at £15/16k but I’m not so sure. The ad didn’t state it was on the register and the chap sincerely apologised but they did tell me before I’d done my own checks. It’s now advertised as Cat D so I’m thinking this was a genuine mistake.
My query is a non registered E250 in this guise is coming up at around the £10.5 to £11k mark on a few online price checkers so I’m thinking a Cat D should be less ? He reckons he paid £10k at auction for it which of course he could well have done.

Decent noise, and smooth for a four pot, but really quite poor on fuel - surprisingly so. No stop start and the old 5 speed auto didnt help; I would see 12.4mpg in heavy traffic (I think this was as low as trip computer went) and even gentle motorway cruises wouldn't get it much over 30mpg.

It's probably worth between 8-9k but the problem is there just aren't that many 2013 E250cgi's Saloon/Estates for sale which means you're really limited in what's available.
Thanks ZX10, that’s what I’m reckoning. Having seen the car in the flesh, it’s lovely so I’m going to get an independent assessor to fully check it over and they’ll also provide a valuation based on the condition. It’ll hopefully give me ammo for a deal!!However there’s no way it would be worth £15k+ if it weren’t a Cat D.

The pre facelifts were 1.8’s I believe and the post facelifts are 2.0 with changes like stop/start and also mated to the newer 7 speed auto box. Had service record for the vehicle I'm looking at and in 6 years its had the following:
2014 - 1st Year - Service A 16394mi (Mercedes)
2015 - 2nd Year - Service B 32106mi (Mercedes)
2017 - 4th Year - Service B 59892mi (non-Mercedes)
Its currently overdue a B service by 2300mi and over 12 months so all this is making me nervous. Should I walk or use as a bargaining chip and send it to Merc/Merc Specialist for a good B service ?

Exactly what I'm thinking to be honest and just wanted a sanity check. I did notice yesterday they had dropped it to £9995, then I called to advise them a 3rd party assessor was coming and it immediately went back to £10995. Assessor booked for Thursday but I'm thinking cancel it and keep looking. I did go for a test drive and it drove well but not sure I want to spend £300 on a complete inspection without it having a good service history.
