BMW 640D Gran Coupe LCI or Audi A7 3.0BiTDI facelift

Hey everyone,

I do about 20k a year and want a comfortable cruiser that still has enough power when I need it.
Currently stuck between two cars and can't decide what I want.
Looking at 2014 640D Gran Coupe (facelift) or 2015 Audi A7BiTDI (facelift)

The options are on them as follows:
BMW 640D Gran Coupe (72k miles) (£18,990)
-Individual Metropolitan Blue
-Ivory Dakota Leather
- M Sport Package (HUD, Harman Kardon, 20"wheels)
-360 camera with reverse camera
-comfort front seats
- soft close doors
- glass sunroof
- ceramic dials and controls
- digital dash
and than the normal standard equipment.

Audi A7 3.0BiTDi (70k miles) (£25,875)
-Mythos Black
- Black Leather
- Glass Sunroof
- Tech Pack
- Parking Pack
-HUD
- Wireless phone charger
- BOSE sound system

What are your opinion which one out of the two would you have and why?
Not necessarily these two but in general between 640d GC and A7 3.0BiTDI
Even though I am an Audi guy and I don't know if I can justify payment £5k to £7k premium just to get A7, basically I am very confused now.
My budget can stretch to 26k but I'd rather keep it under 20k.

I can't comment on the drive, but £7k seems a lot more to pay for the Audi. The GC is, for me, one of the best looking cars on the road - in any class. I'd also say they are a rarer sight, so it would be the GC every day for me. Just get one in a colour - blue, red, silverstone etc.

Of those two, the GC is way better looking. I would get one, but it is massive compared to most parking bays.

640 GC all day long. Better to drive, better looking and the interior is amazing.

A7 is essentially just an A6 in a different frock and same interior. The 6 feels a substantial jump up from a 5 series in comparison and is IMHO a real bargain. The engine/gearbox combination is also far better than that in the Audi.

I really dislike the shape of the A7 so I'd go with GC everytime.

I look after a 650i GC for a client and it appears like a nice place to sit to do some miles, I know he's been happy with his from an ownership pov.

6GC by far, much rarer and feels special. A7 is more practical, and the ride is sometimes smoother but it doesnt have the balance or the overall tourer feel.

It would be the GC for me it's the better car & with your usage also the 7k difference can be spent on maintenance & fuel.

You've got to wonder why the A7 is so much more expensive when it appears everyone would rather have the GC.

A7 for me, I never got the fuss over the GC, however the 3.0tdi is more than enough for the A7.

Infiniti Q70 has plenty of shove for the most demanding helmsmen via the Mercedes engine. 60mpg and loaded with spec.

I like both but I'd go for the BMW because I prefer the way that they drive. The 6 series is a very good looking car and you don't often get to say that about recent Bmw's.

I think the 6 series will have been a much more expensive car than the A7 (60k vs. 80k, I’d guess), and it’s surprising to me that the A7 seems to have held more value. For me I’d go for the 6, but drive both and see which you prefer. The 6 should be a nicer place to be, but as I’ve not been in a A7 I can’t say for sure.

6 GC, think it’s miles better looking and it’s 7k cheaper. No brainer.
