Hey guys

Been on the lookout for a Clubman lease but pricing is stupid and has been for the last 9 months. So I started poking around used ones and found this one:

I asked the dealer to confirm the specs and got this back which appears to confirm all that has been advertised. From my desktop research, spec'ing the same options on a new one would cost 34,650. That's circa 37% off list price 12 months old with 7.7k miles



This looks too good to be true or am i missing something?

Depreciation on new cars, especially with options, is brutal!

Just avoid the used car finance the dealer will offer - APR will be huge. Get a bank loan or PCP via your bank for a much lower rate.

As above, car looks great but the 12% Apr on the there example is very high.
Dealers seem to offer better Apr on new than used to protect new sales

This is a petrol head site so I’m gonna suggests you hold off and get the JCW 300bhp version....

As others have said, don't be paying 12.4% APR.

We got a brand new Clubman Cooper S for £300pm on a PCP about 18 months ago, balloon is £10.5k after 4 years, although ours doesn't have the XL Nav or the pop up screen thingy as neither really interested me.

Think the total price was £24k with the Chilli Pack we added but our APR is 3.6% which is fairly decent.

You can get loans out there for 2.9% APR which is a lot of money saved over 4 years when compared to their APR.

Think we have about 19k to pay and its probably worth £15-16k private based on Autotrader prices so will be in neg equity for at least another year to 18 months but will likely give it back anyway, its a nice car but I want something quicker next time, probably an M135i.

Got about 40% off list on my 13 month old DCT Cooper S with less than 8k miles so not unusual. Bought from Lister Boston no connection with them but very happy with experience. Ex demo car and they have some clubmans for sale at moment(dont seem to advertise on Autotrader) so may be worth a look.
Decided against the car originally but they dropped it by £1k after I'd put it on watch so maybe worth keeping an eye on if any cars meet your requirements.

I'd be surprised if the 1st owner paid anything close to £34k. We've just ordered a new clubman with a similar(ish) spec and I think all in all managed to get about 20% off the list price

Well looking at those screenshots that’s an ex BMW/MINI/RR car scheme car, and as posted above even retail customers would have got a large discount.

I bought ours, to a very similar spec, last year. That had a list price of £34k ish but I paid just under £29k. So 16% or thereabouts of. The discount ends up being a larger % on cheaper cars because a chunk of it was in the form of ‘deposit contribution’, which is a fixed amount.

And I’m sure the ex BMW cars are looked after...though this has been on (off!) the A259 roundabout on the A27 since Saturday night or Sunday morning....so less than a week old... . It was still there an hour ago...

I don't think it really matters what the first owner paid - that is completely subjective. We have to peg it to the list price and see what the discount represents relative to that. Now in reality, you could assume most buyers will get between 5-10% and say that's the real price but I don't think 20% is the norm at all. Even if it were, the above deal still represents 17% more discount for only 12 months use and less than 8k miles.

Thanks I had a look and they dont have anything that comes remotely close. A lesser spec'd 6 months younger clubman is advertised for about 4k more. They do have a JCW clubman which piqued my interest but it's only the 230hp one which I think you can tune the Cooper S to anyway.
