Cross London commute suggestions needed - upto 3kish

Evening all,

Looks like I will be having to travel from se London to sw London for work for a bit and it’s a massive ball ache getting a train up to Waterloo east, schleping over to Waterloo and then getting a train out again - plus £15 a day.

Where I am working I will have free parking, and will be avoiding the CC zone.

Sooooooo...... thinking an auto cruiser of some description. Has to be comfortable, reliable, cheapish to tax and fuel - and should have some sort of style.

Been looking at CLK sports, Audi A4 convertible, jag x-type sports etc etc

Anyone have any ideas or experience of the above ?

Help me Obi-wanistonheads, your my only hope.

For that commute I’d be looking at a pushbike or a scooter. If it has to be a car I’d be looking at the smallest but most comfortable EV possible and accepting you’d lose a good 3 hours a day.

Have you tried the drive by car at your usual working times yet?

That train fare may turn out to be the biggest bargain of all time.

Should have mentioned, I’ll be getting to office about 7.30 (so should miss the worst of the school traffic etc).

I have driven it at rush hour and is about 1.20 at worst ......train journey is about the same

Go for the CLK in my bias opinion it'll tick the boxes but also bare in mind the ULEZ will be coming out in 2021.

I'd say go for a 270 if you're not going to be affected by the ULEZ:
