I've decided i'm 100% getting an a6 allroad bitdi.

Few questions.....

Air suspension on the motorway, as good as expected?
70mph motorway driving, an honest 40mpg possible?
Any 100% needed spec/extras?

The one i'm looking at.....

40k on it
technology pack
comfort pack
Sport model
320bhp 8speed jobbie.
20" wheels(makes me sad)
tow bar(makes me happy)
few other little bits.

2 year warranty, late 66 plate, 24k. Original list price was circa 64k.

I have the A7 with the same engine. Lifetime average over the last 3 years is 42.1mpg, mainly A roads and motorways. At a steady 70mph just motorway work you can expect close to 50mpg, my best is 51.3 from Cardiff to Nottingham at 65-70 mph.

Same engine A6 saloon. I can see 56 mpg from Rugby to Rotherham, especially if the roadworks are 50 limited. 1200 miles around France in the summer I got 44 to 45 between fill ups and that was mostly 80mph with air con on.

20’s a bit harsh and tyres (Audi fit) ain’t cheap. Goes much better on Shell VPower. Does a regen often (noisy exhaust turns on, gearbox keeps revs up & locks out manual)

VPower diesel may have some enhanced additives over the regular but it shouldn’t perform better as such in the same way that the petrol equivalent would vs regular unleaded.

In January I bought one! It’s a 64 plate so it’s the 314bhp version and I paid 20k with 55k miles so pricing is about right!

Pulling up the long term specs from the onboard I’ve done 12k miles since then at an average of 37mph (it’s my daily) and it’s averaged 40.5mpg over that time.

On a motorway run it regularly does mid 40s

It’s a fantastic ride and the air suspension is really comfortable but can be stiffened up easily.

Great great car!!
