Jaguar xk or audi tts
Discussion
I'm bouncing back and forth between head and heart.
I have 11k to spend of a car and have narrowed it down to two, The jaguar xk (4.2) and the audi tts.
The jaguar has my heart with the looks and sound but the tts has my head with the economy and tuning potential.
Has anyone had any experience with these car ?

Nice. I have the same budget and have briefly considered both. The borkability of each puts me off but I'd love an XK - remember the XK is £500+ tax whereas the TTS isn't.
I have come very close to buying a TTS but the niggling thought of the piston rings melting puts me off. I can't find an answer as to whether they go or not as the other 2.0 TFSI units of the era do.

It's a really difficult one, I have a 350z at the moment and the xk on paper is pretty much exactly the same but the jag looks more grown up (i'm getting old). As for the TTS as soon as i started looking in to them i found stories of massive oil use and engine rebuilds :S
I might stick with what i've got as i'm not sure the Xk or TTS offer enough to warrant the extra cost.

Tell me about it. Here's my "shortlist" from a couple of weeks ago - it changes daily at the moment.
TT
TTS
Golf GTi
330 Coupe
6cyl petrol 1 Series
Focus ST
Mini Cooper S
GT86
370Z
Monaro
Leon Cupra
VX220
Mazda 3 MPS
208 GTi
Clio Cup
Megane cup (actually had a 265 but didn't really like it, more situation driven I think)

Reminds me of some of the Veilside Supras a few years back!!I might stick with what i've got as i'm not sure the Xk or TTS offer enough to warrant the extra cost.

Assume you've sunk a few quid into the 350 during your ownership?
Think a TTRS would suit you more - someone I know had one with a bit "extra" a few years back - think it was the TTRS+ or similar?
Very, very quick car.

Very nice car OP, have you thought about a 370Z Nismo? Looking at your car I'd probably stick with what I had & maybe think about a turbo or supercharger if you want to add something extra.I might stick with what i've got as i'm not sure the Xk or TTS offer enough to warrant the extra cost.

Funnily enough i had considered a 370z but to me it's not different enough from the 350z and the extra the 370 costs i could forge and turbo the 350
Great minds hey
