I've had my current Saab 9-3 for over 3 years now and I fancy a change, it's also getting very tired and tatty so I want something else. Having looked and looked, nothing is really springing to mind, having gotten very bored of looking I think i've settled on an E91 320d, but I thought i'd see if there were some other ideas. I'd love a 330, but sadly the budget doesn't go that far!

Requirements:

£2-2.5k budget. Not much I know, but i'm no company director.
Estate (might be able to get away with a big hatchback)
Manual
Must have isofix
Must have cruise control
Climate control/heated seats would be a bonus.
150 bhp +
Either petrol or diesel. Mileage is about 12k/year so doesn't really matter. Diesel economy would be nice but it's no biggie. Need to be getting at least 28-30+ MPG from a petrol though.


A Mondeo seems an obvious choice, but I don't want anything *too* boring. Then again, I am looking a diesel estates so what do i expect?!

A bit too late OP!

I sold my manual E91 325iSE for the top of your budget in April.

But it had 192 bhp, Iso-Fix, dual-zone climate control, heated seats, rear parking sensors and included a set of wheels with winter tyres!
