Land Rover Discovery 4 or Audi RS4 Avant?!

Yes I know 2 totally opposite ends of the spectrum!
My wifes Evoque is leaving us very shortly as her pcp deal ends and I'm stuck in a conundrum as to what to replace it with.
Looking to spend around £30k, will be getting off the pcp roundabout and going cash.
Always loved the Discovery and great for lugging stuff around, bikes, dog etc, plenty space and really safe. After driving one I'd set my heart on it......but I've always loved to own a B8 RS4 and after I pointed one out to my wife she gave me the go ahead which really isnt like her!
Both cars will be around 4-5 years old, are there any big issues with either? Also, I know I should'nt be concerned with mpg on the RS4 and i can stomach low 20's mpg but not constantly in the teens.
My head says Discovery but my heart says RS4, can anybody help me out with the pro's and cons of each!

- I also have a Abarth 595 Competizione for fun so even with the Land Rover I'd have something fun to drive!
I can’t help with the Audi but I have owned a D4 from new for the last four years - so now at the age you are looking at.
I may have been lucky but have not had any real issues with it - a couple of minor bits have been a pain such as having to recode the keys when batteries are changed etc but no breakdowns or real problems
The car itself is fantastic for what it is - surprisingly responsive for such a heavy lump and quite enjoyable to drive.
I only have two real issues with it. First, I find the seats massively uncomfortable for longer journeys - as do the rest of the family - so worth getting an extended run in one to check that they won’t be a problem for you
The other gripe - and not the cars fault - is that thieves love them as it is ridiculously easy to steal parts from. Depending on where you live - I am in Greater London - this may or may not be a problem for you. To date I have had the tow bar stolen, the spare wheel and the rear lights (twice). I have now resorted to fixing the rear lights with tamper-proof screws and will need to get a locking plate for the spare wheel. I have to say that it has really taken the gloss off of owning an otherwise extremely capable car.
I am still deciding whether to keep it as have now got a Macan arriving this weekend, so 2 big cars may be overkill - but the D4 is still a cracking car that I am reluctant to move on

I've changed the batteries in my D4 keys several times and don't need to recode them? Mine is an early 59 plate. Is yours a later one?
But yes, superb vehicles. Ours has been extremely reliable and is a brilliant, comfy work horse that still looks fantastic. Now at 130k and 10 years old. No idea what to replace it with... Probably another D4.... Or just keep this one.

Hope you get a good one. I did read on the LR thread that the warranty on used vehicles is being reduced to only 12 months - but not sure when that takes effect.
My cousin is business manager for a large LR dealership so i'll need to ask him about that. Only certain premier dealers offer the 2 years, the rest only do 1.
