Comfortable warm/hot daily- Astra 1.6 Turbo 200hp?
Discussion
I recently had a '18 Vauxhall Astra 1.6 Turbo 200hp rental car.
I've never been a fan of Vauxhall but this has changed my opinion.
It has great level of kit, plenty of poke and yet was nice and complient on country roads.
I've had various hot hatches but find them too stiff on our awful pothole riddles roads.
Some have left me wincing and others left me with a headache when i've not slept enough.
The Astra on the same roads seemed great! Sure the steering isn't perfect and there's some body roll, but for daily duties it was close to perfect.
Maybe the Astra is the answer, but I don't know much about the Astra K 1.6 Turbo A16SHT/B16SHT and it's reliability.
Vauxhall seem to be scoring fairly well in the reliability index these days and this car can be had for around £10k which seems great value.
Given I'm not a fan of Vauxhall, are there any other similar cars to the Astra?
- Hot hatch or small estate
- 0-60 <8 seconds
- Petrol Turbo
- Comfortable
- Similar price point used

It's a good warm hatch I've supplied a fair number of them & they're a good reliable car, look for the Limited Edition models as they come loaded with kit, the one complaint is that the gearing blunts the performance a bit but that's about it.

Astra Elite

Another two that are worth a look are the Kia Ceed/Pro Ceed GT Tech models, they'll also have some warranty left:

Thanks for all the suggestions!
The Kia is an interesting proposititon, but costs a little more however has the added advantage of warranty.
The Volvo is also nice, but that out of my price range.
That Astra Elite looks great value for money. Seems to have an aweful lot of kit on it for £10,000. Heated seats & steering wheel too.

The obvious riposte is Golf GTI.
I fear this is the answer. I was looking at both the GTC and the Proceed GT which I'm sure would be brilliant but probably outshone by the golf in every area bar price? If you're talking an actual hot hatch a last of the Line 2.5T Focus ST-3 is IMO a much better car than the Golf as is a non Cup chassis Megane RS but the one to look at is the Alfa Giulietta Cloverleaf:
