There are some big gaps in the service history there, time is one thing, miles are quite another.

I think this is late enough not to have the dreaded IMS bearing issue.

For the record in general life, red is my favourite colour although that being said it's a very car sensitive hue.

That particular car, no as definitely wrong colour for me, does not suit the soft top shape.
And I would like an explanation to the service gaps.

Yes it will have the revised design at this age, I think it kicked in at 2007. Also the 3.6 is far less likely to have the issue vs the 3.8. Hence why I still think the 2007-2008 Gen 1 3.6 are a very sound decision with significantly reduced bork factor.

The red is a factor re: price/resell as it isn't the most popular option, but I like it (makes a difference from the blacks/silvers/blue) and if you like it...go for it.

It doesn't have the porsche exhaust/chrono (neither does mine) but does appear to have some aftermarket exhaust (as the Carrera normally has single pipes on each side). The little knobs on the PCM are typically a little marked (but not significantly) luckily those are replaceable at about £9 a side. Also bluetooth can be added for about £120 (parts only)

Service is every 2 years/20k on these, so it's actually not as bad it looks

If you do get it, make sure they confirm the coil pack cracks/waterpump/coolant pipes/ignition cable (hot start) has all been checked, as those are typically the weaker points of these plus the usual front suspension components.

This for me too. I generally like tan interiors but only really with dark green/blue exteriors. Doesn't sit right with bright red to me. Looks a decent enough car though

Nice car, we had a red cab 996 and it was a bit harder to sell as people didn’t want red, ours was a tiptronic and had black interior.

We bought it cheap and sold it cheap and we really liked the colour.

Bought an XKR from Dove House some years ago and they (and it) were smashing.

I wouldn't buy a 911 unless it was bright red as I think that colour suits them very well. Convertible wouldn't be for me though - but that's probably because I'm not a girl

Worth introducing yourself over at 911uk and ask for their opinion.

They are getting to the age where they need work, e.g. corrosion and wear are starting affect things e.g. heat shields, front top mounts, condensors at the front, cooling pipes that run front to back, etc.

These are not cheap cars to run despite the price tag, some estimate a £3k a year maintenance budget.

But apart from that, it’s lovely!

They're only saying they are good because you're not allowed to say they are bad. Best go to 911uk and ask on there. You will get a more balanced response.
