UK BMW 3 series PCP
Discussion
Ok, the heading is probably too generic, (apologies in advance).
Having recently bought a new car, (on PCP), my enthusiasm has begun to rub off on other people around me and sure enough, a couple have trotted off to the dealership and signed on the dotted line and got themselves new wheels. There have been some surprisingly good deals over the last couple of months.
This leads me to my question on behalf of a colleague at work, who has decided upon the 320i m-sport trim +Tech & + Luxury + HK stereo upgrade, (you gotta have the tunes to go with those electric seats and heated steering wheel...). We currently have 3 dealers all within about £5/10 a month of each other and whilst some may say, what's the point in haggling any further... well £10pm is the best part of £500 over the duration of the PCP and who in their right mind is going to give away £500 for nothing....
The PCP deal being offered is £485 pm after £1,500 down + various dealer contribution/discount, with an understanding of 8k/miles/yr over 48 months.
Is this the best or near the best deal we are likely to expect? Or do you fine people know differently and where to go for an even better one?
Many thanks in advance for your insight and keen inside knowledge of where to go...
PS I only ask as my 435d in 2017 was £530pm for £2k down 12k/yr, which to me, for an extra £50pm seems a waaaayyy better deal...

New model just released .. give it 6-12 months and the pcp deals will be much cheaper Having recently bought a new car, (on PCP), my enthusiasm has begun to rub off on other people around me and sure enough, a couple have trotted off to the dealership and signed on the dotted line and got themselves new wheels. You’d probably find a 5 series cheaper at the mo
I'd suggest your friend takes a look at a Tesla Model 3. The SR+ is a similar amount per month. Performance is better than the 320.
There are savings to be made on fuel / electricity, servicing etc etc. On a cheap rate night tariff electricity work out at about 1.5p per mile.
Mine arrives in 10 days time and replaces my Jaguar XFR.

Is he going to keep it at the end of the 48mths? If not, I think you’d find a better deal leasing it.Having recently bought a new car, (on PCP), my enthusiasm has begun to rub off on other people around me and sure enough, a couple have trotted off to the dealership and signed on the dotted line and got themselves new wheels. E.g https://www.selectcarleasing.co.uk/car-leasing/bmw...
Actually works out cheaper for 10k miles for some reason.
You’ve fallen into the salesman’s trap...
The final payment value and APR should be the same at all the dealers. You need to look at what the sale price off the car is (after deposit contributions from dealer & bmw). That will then determine the monthly rate (assuming mileage and options are the same on all quotes).
Then compare that figure vs online brokers like coast2coast. If it’s same/similar, it’s the best you’ll probably get.

For a 2 Litre 3 Series?
I am not against PCP, we have a Mini Clubman with the same B48 engine but ours is £200pm cheaper than this with the same down payment but 10k miles per year. For the best part of £500pm, I would expect something better than a 320i.
