Want to spend around £30K on a daily 4x4 driver.
14K miles a year
Space for family 5 but handy if it was 7 seater but not essential.
Probably 2015/16 as don't want loads of depreciation.
I've had a Range Rover L405 before so my default was to get a 2014 4.4L VOGUE SE again. However the new Volvo XC90's look quite good. Is the XC90 similar size to the L405 or the disco? Also would be nice to have a change rather than go for a Land Rover again. Also something thats reliable and doesnt cost a fortune to repair would be brill.
It needs to be a 4x4 as the lanes around my house are appalling and will probably end up getting offroad tyres as sometimes go offroad on grass/ mud tracks.

I’ve had a 2016 xc90 for about a month now and absolutely love it. It’s the comfiest car I’ve ever owned and soaks up the bumps in the country lanes where I live. It’s also reasonable on fuel (it can get 35-37 mpg on a run) for a big car.
My first choice was the discovery. However the engine seized on the one I bought 30 miles outside of the Land Rover dealership. It was only a 2017 with 35k on the clock. That plus all the horror stories online about reliability put me off getting another.

I had a 2013 Range Rover and at 40K miles the transfer box went out of warranty that would have cost £5k at a dealership. I like the idea of the XC90 and getting a 2016 makes sense where most of the depreciation is out of the way. After my 2018 M5 hideous depreciation I want a family 4x4 that won't cost me a bomb.My first choice was the discovery.
