For the past 10 years I've had mostly SUV sized vehicles for family, plus a sports car on the side (two A45s and a Focus RS). A year ago I decided I'd rather spend my ££ on other hobbies and have been driving around a Peugeot Tepee since then (which is mildly amusing for a banger, at least).

I'm now looking to scratch that "fun car" itch again but without going into expensive RS or AMG territory.. Fun/funny is now more of a focus than raw performance.

Criteria:
  • 4 seats fine, 5 great
  • <£10k used
  • want "nippy" 0-40 acceleration, don't care about top speed or 60+ performance
  • manual preferred
  • noisy/looks weird not a problem
  • anything that'll make me laugh and other people groan is fine
  • don't care about interior quality, size (to a point)
Got any interesting/creative suggestions? Or am I basically in Fiesta ST territory? :-)

(I am aware of the recent thread at https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&... but it had more limitations than I do. Doesn't need to be a "small" car and I don't want automatic.)

Does this float your boat?

Nothing to do with me, I think it's probably a bit overpriced but it does have 4 seats!

A Reliant Robin isn't an entirely terrible suggestion, would certainly be a laugh. 3 wheels seems a bit scary to me in winter though :-D

That old timey car is pretty neat, not sure I have the lack of self-awareness to pull that quite off though..

Nissan Juke or Cube, VW Beetle, Skoda Yeti or Roomster, Japanese import like a Nissan Pao (they are Micra based though so might not be too nippy).
