XC40 T5 vs f-pace v6

Perhaps an odd dilemma, given they're different sizes... but it is the one that faces me.
I like both these vehicles for differing reasons, have test driven both and appreciate their obvious differences.
Budget is 30-36k, so for that I'd be able to get a nearly new XC40 T5 in r-design pro, or a 2 or 3 year old fpace v6 petrol.
I like the better tech and interior of the XC40, it's big enough for my needs, and really like the design inside and out. It drives well, although is obviously not sporty, the transmission can be a bit iffy in some scenarios and there is some lag. But the T5 engine is still generally pretty peppy, and when it engages, is enjoyable to drive.
I really like the drive of the fpace, it's a much more fun experience, and the engine sounds great. I love the exterior design, but the interior is a little meh and the tech feels a little dated too - especially in comparison to the groups' other updated vehicles like the ipace, velar and XE.
For context, I only do 5k to 6k miles a year, and is not used for commuting. So is an evening and weekend vehicle. Mixed use around town, some medium length trips and the occasional longer trip.
Currently have a Freelander 2.
Interested in views particularly from anyone that has shopped these two vehicles, and how they came to a decision.
(btw although i like the look of the chubby epace, it's a noticeably worse drive than the fpace and feels heavy)
