I've (potentially) dropped myself in it and ordered a P400e on a decent lease deal. I know they're unreliable, I know what I'm potentially letting myself in for etc etc, but something I've started to wonder is if it really is crap, to the point where I want to reject it, how does that work with a lease?

There's enough stories out there of people rejecting JLR (more specifically LR) products, however on a manufacturer backed PCP you obviously have the dealer and manufacturer support. When leasing through a third party broker, how would it be handled? I guess in the first instance it wouldn't be my car to reject, so would the broker have to fight my corner and deal with that? In the T&C's it mentions it's their responsibility to provide me with the vehicle, however what isn't in black and white is what happens if I subjectively lose confidence in that vehicle due to numerous issues and wish to reject it. I'm fully aware I have no right to cancel or withdraw from the lease agreement early without being on the hook for the associated fees...but it doesn't say anything about replacement vehicles.

On a slightly different note, I've never bought Gap cover on a lease before. I've only ever leased cheaper cars - my current skoda is worth around £28k list price - but I'm thinking I probably should for this one, as due to the high RRP/monthly rentals I guess I could be on the hook in a total loss situation? Has anyone ever needed to call on their gap insurance as part of a lease? This one's a bit of a departure for me, instead of taking any suitable car to get the best possible deal and shirking on any extras I'm using this lease as a slightly cheaper way into something fairly expensive I was going to probably buy anyway, so want to do it 'right'.

In relation to your GAP Query I recommend Direct Gap, I use them myself and made a claim with them that was relatively painless after my car was stolen in a burglary, mine wasn't on lease but if you look on their website they do packages for cars on lease which tend to be cheaper than main dealers etc.
I'm still using them for my current vehicle.
