I'm tasked with helping a friend into a car.

£6k budget, 8-10k p/a, manual, usually one occupant v occasionally 4. Ideally 2015 onwards.

I'm thinking Suzuki Swift. Anything else?

She isn't a petrolhead, just needs painless motoring.

Surely a Fiat 500 is the answer to this, many models, specs and colours to choose from at this price point. Mrs sit ran a 1.2 Pop for 2 painless years just servicing and tyres.

Swift is a good car and is small but not too small, still feels substantial. My wife has had no issues at all in what must be over two years now.
