lease car going back - advice

Hi
My first lease car is going back in February
It was 5k PA but will have done 25-27k miles when it goes back.
I understand our excess mileage charge is about 5.5p including VAT.
That's fine, but the car also has some curb marks to the wheels , and a scuffed rear bumper.
The car will also need an MOT at 3 years old (3 year lease).

I will spend a day giving it a detail to remove swirls and light scratches, and good interior clean but I am wondering if it would be better value for money to leave the damaged wheels and bumpers to be charged subsequently by the lease company, or if I would be better to repair them myself?

Also am I responsible to get the MOT done or will this be done by the lease company?

Previous replies on here have said that kerbed alloys will cost you LESS if you leave them for the lease company to sort out.

That's not necessarily true. Most lease companies have fixed pricing for repairs. Certainly for wheels it's almost always cheaper to let them bill you than repair yourself.

Check with the lease company and they will tell you the costs.

I remember seeing a document basically highlighting what would be "wear and tear" and what would be chargeable but it didn't mention how much these repairs would cost.

The leasing company is ALD and the lease was arranged through First Vehicle Leasing.

Might give an idea of costs. They seem a bit more expensive than i have experienced. VWFS only charge £35-40 per scuffed alloy so definitely cheaper to leave them to do it.

Just give the lease company a call and ask them what they charge for a scuffed wheel, etc. It's just a standard query to them and they will probably be able to send you a list.

Problem with getting the bodywork repaired is if they pick up on the repair and decide it's not to whatever the right standard is, they can charge you anyway.

I'd always check the costs before doing anything on a lease car now.

£60 quid for wheel refurb. Jesus.
Might find a guy who can do them for £30 each lol

I was quoted £100 per wheel for smart repair so thought fk that and handed it back with damage. In the end didn't get charged anything

Returned a car to ALD last week, charged 50 quid each for 2 wheels. BCA collected it.
