Need a new car, plan on having a kid shortly so needs to be:

5 Door
Reliable
Big enough boot etc for prams

Budget is max of 6500 but ideally less, dont want it to be really old either as it needs to last a good few years.

Options so far have been, ford focus, hyundai i30, kia rio.

Any more suggestions.

In a similar predicament myself and with a likely budget in that ballpark area of £6-7k.
The Kia Ceed and Hyundai I30 both seem great value but seeing a pattern in people having clutch and gearbox issues as the mileage goes up. Maybe my concerns are unwarranted but do wonder how the Korean cars durability is longer term. Lot of the.modern stuff doesn't seem to take the abuse as well compared to older cars.
Anyway to add my 2p, to the op I'm looking at late Mazda 6's in the previous shape (upto 2012), Focuses and Seat Leon's. I really like the look of the Volvo V40 but need minimum £10k for a semi decent one. I'm also keen on mk8 Accords but practicality not as strong as other options.
