Bought car on PCP - wrong milage, wrong date

Hello All

1. about a month ago I put a deposit on a car to buy on PCP. £500 deposit was paid. mileage was 39500.
collection day today the mileage is now 40355 - is this allowed? in 4 weeks over 800 miles has been added, the PCP agreement states the 39500 as per original deposit and buy date.

where do I stand with this?

2. The contract states on the 20th of each month the money will come out of my account. I didn't collect the car until today (4 days later). is this allowed? the dealership delayed collection I don't see why they should get 4 days out of me

PCP on a 40k car ? I thought PCP was mainly on new cars ?

contact the finance company and see what they say, the mileage should be reasonably accurate. If you are only on 6k per year then its over 10% of your annual mileage.

No the car is 16 plate.

I do not expect a to put a deposit down and then collect the car with another 850 miles added.

not a main dealer, but also not a small little family owned one

they stock over 100 cars.

before I complain I want to know if that's acceptable.

or will they just say the car was not yours until handover date?

For me the bigger issue is the PCP mileage, its a good chunk of your annual mileage, i would be fine with up to 25 miles being covered from paying a deposit as it allows for road tests for the PDI or possibly to move it off site for servicing, tyres MOT etc. 800 plus is taking the wee wee. Its not a BMW?Merc form somewhere in Lincolnshire is it.

yes exactly what I thought, 200 miles a week? someone at the dealership has obviously been using it personally.

if they don't give me something for this I will reject the car and cancel the PCP (I think I could based on this)?
