Pre-purchase inspection - advice needed, please!

OK - first time poster! I'm Old - attempting not to make too many serious mistakes, so a kindly approach would be appreciated!
Last year I sold my '57 plated 335i - and I loved it. Not perhaps the quickest car that I've ever driven, but certainly the fastest that I've ever owned.
A change in life's circumstances had me left with just this car and the dog - - I sold it to buy a hatch-back which I loathe and just for the dog. Two cars are the answer.
Time for another Beemer - 335i minimum - M3 - M5 - V8 6 series - whatever picks it's feet up and is quick - thinking 07 plate and younger. Is a top end of £12k being a bit hopeful? - First question.
Second Question; in Hendon N/London, there is Portiacraft, I know 3 guys who've bought from the man and they all say, he's rod-straight. Where or who is the Portiacraft equivalent for the bigger BMs?
I can't afford Main Dealer prices, and anyway, they won't sell ageing cars and put their names to them. Is there someone out there who's prepared to put a car through a thorough - in-depth - pre-purchase inspection, on my behalf, which I will pay for and/or such a guy who may even be a Dealer?
Is there a BM specialist who is to be recommended? Am I being a bit hopeful?
