Looking to buy a new car.

Requirements

-Automatic
- 5 doors saloon (something sporty looking) think C Class AMG, CLA, 3/4 series gran coupe
-Newer than 2011
-Petrol ?
- do 10k Miles a year
- mostly short journeys in London.
-Will run it for 5 years don't care about depreciation if it lasts for the 5 years with minimal work.

Any links and buying advice appreciated. Currently thinking of Car Giant but they seem priced high for what you get and heard some horror stories.

Apologies to the OP to jump on this post but ZX10R NIN gives great recommendations outside of the box - how about an equivalent list for diesel or even convertibles?

Happy to take this to PM rather than me create a new topic. I don’t need to buy in a rush and have about 3 months to make a decision, so may just send a PM nearer then.

OP, best of luck with your new car search.

OP, also consider the Mercedes Benz CLS. They have been popping up occasionally in the barge thread and there’s a large choice under budget on AutoTrader but I can only find one CLS350 with your 2011 criteria... may be worth considering if you are slightly flexible on age for a big saving.

I have recently been looking at Mercedes C classes and Jaguar XEs, and it is not too difficult to find one about 5 years old within your budget, but most are diesels. There are petrol engined ones about but very few, so you will probably have to cast your net widely to find one, but it can be done.

I'd say wait a bit before asking as the market will change a bit after January, how about a diesel convertible:
