Currently 18 months in on a 2 year PCH deal on an Ateca with Seat Financial Services (VW). Thinking of extending for another year and have been told I can obtain a quote now. Substantially below contracted mileage of 10k per year, currently on 10,500 so wondered if anyone has experience of extending a PCH deal with VWFS and knows if it would be cheaper to extend now or leave it until nearer the end of the current contract.

Cheers

It's pretty random, just whatever the system spits out.
You can obtain a new quote every 30 days as far as I'm aware so if you get one that's expensive, keep requesting new quotes and you may get one you're happy with.

Exactly this. I have a Leon that is due back in April. I have asked for 3 or 4 extension quotes already and they have all varied (guess due to mileage being different each month). So if you are 6 months from the end, now is the perfect time to get in touch and ask for an extension. Best to give them a call. There is an online form but a couple of times, I have used that and despite a confirmation email, never received a quote

I got an extension quote on my Skoda (also VWFS) 3 months before it was due to end and it came in at £20 a month less than my original payments for a 1 year extension with the same mileage allowance (another 8k).

IIRC a 1 year extension was cheaper per month than a 6 month extension.

I did mine 6 months out, but it was a Skoda on VWFS and it worked out about £20 cheaper per month for another year. Was an excellent decision to extend.
